Louis-Auguste Veillon (born December 29, 1834 in Bex, † 5 January 1890 in Geneva) was a Swiss painter. After a degree in Reformed theology in Lausanne, he entered the studio of François Diday in Geneva, where he painted seascapes and views of mountains of the Bernese Oberland. In 1858 he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she met the orientalist Eugène Fromentin. He visited Rome, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Egypt, spent two years in Venice and then finally settled in Geneva.Here he turned to Orientalist themes and painted mostly landscapes with the Nile or the Dead Sea.
