Marcel Nies Oriental Arts interview about arts from the Himalayan and South East Asia

Marcel Nies Oriental Arts is specialized in arts from the Himalayan region of India and South East Asia. I believe the West is very interested by Buddhist sculpture, since such artworks have a deep impact in the emotional feelings of collectors. I have witnessed this interest since many years. People are more and more interest in Buddhist philosophy and way of life. Finding masterpieces on the market is a major issue. My philosophy has always been to go for the quality rather than the quantity. Furthermore, a masterpieces tells much more about the culture, than a large row of average quality pieces. About investing is art, if I realize that "investing" is the main motivation of the client, I would advice him not to buy anything in my gallery. I believe that for the person who have a real passion or interest and who like to confront themselves with great works of art, they will choose much more carefully and will make in a natural way a much better investment than someone only buying for financial reasons.
