L. Codosero, Galería de Arte Antiguo, is located in the prestigious Salamanca district, the heart of the Art market in Madrid. Established by the Codosero couple in 1973, it has kept its present base since 1984. The gallery’s specialities include sculpture and decorative arts from the Medieval to the Baroque, with Luis Codosero as one of the most recognised names in the antique earthenware market in Spain, as well as the rest of Europe. In 2002, their daughter Laura Codosero joined the Gallery, introducing fresh ideas, whilst continuing her parents tradition of professionalism and seriousness and their deep love for the works of art.

Since their beginnings in the world of art, Codosero has been dedicated to the search for authenticity, purity and beauty. They usually say that they have an instinctive eye, the best gift for an art dealer to have. However, this is not totally true, because research has become a fundamental part of their work. That is why they always provide their customers with detailed documentation of their adquisitions.

During their extensive activity, the gallery has enhanced the collections of private spanish and foreign clients, as well as national and international museums such as The Cluny Museum, The Hispanic Society of America and the Casa Natal de Cervantes. (Cervantes´ Birthplace Museum), and the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection (Caracas, New York)

The gallery participates yearly in FERIARTE, (Madrid’s Antiques and Art Fair) –they are founder members of FERIARTE- and since 2007 will have the pleasure to be present internationally in the Salon du Collectionneur in Paris.
